Gothenburg Artificial Intelligence Alliance

GAIA is the Gothenburg Artificial Intelligence Alliance: a non-profit association connecting AI practitioners across industry, academia, and the public sector in Gothenburg and the Nordics. We promote interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, and data engineering. We have hosted our annual GAIA Conference since 2018, and our community roots in the Machine Learning and Data Science (GBG) meetup group date back to 2014.

Knowledge-sharing and networking, between events too

We hold a couple of meetups a year, usually hosted by a company that builds AI, and our conference every spring. At both, people who build and use AI share what worked, what did not, and what they learned. Between events, members talk in GAIA’s Slack.

Our aim is a strong AI community in the Gothenburg region, in which startups, scaleups, established companies, universities, and the public sector grow by learning from each other. That takes people who know each other across organisations and domains, and knowledge that travels: from the projects here to everyone else, and from the rest of the world to Gothenburg.
